TAC.TAC. Entering the mysterious world of objects...
Boxes, sticks and casters... Props are present on the stage, one couldn't tell their function. An original mystery proposed, not without malice, in Tac.Tac., a solo by choreographer and dancer YoungSoon Cho Jaquet, from which those inert companions disrupt the boundaries of senses and perception as they are set to move. Here, the dancer becomes a shaman, owner of a secret grammar of items she gives to us through the filter of her emotions. Sometimes completely consumed by them, sometimes driven by the necessity to give us their messages. Comical when they fall, threatening when drawn, tender or exhausted when moving in slow-motion, these items owe everything to the nature of the hand by which they are manipulated. But isn't it also as much their own actions that impact the dancer's body and emotions ? Doubt shines in the eye of the spectator : boxes, sticks and casters do exist. They look at us, thus transforming us on a deep level.
This piece was born of the encounter of the choreographer YoungSoon Cho Jaquet and visual artist Jonas Marguet, and of the desire to explore a common sensibility bound to hybridization and optical illusion.
